As part of the Information Worker track, I will be presenting an instructor-led lab at TechReady2 next month in Seattle:

  • IWIL300 Building and Configuring end-to-end Solutions in O12 With Minimal Code, Thursday, January 12, 2006, 1:00pm-2:15pm
  • IWIL300R Building and Configuring end-to-end Solutions in O12 With Minimal Code, Thursday, January 12, 2006, 2:45pm-4:00pm, a repeat of the 1:00pm session

In the abstract the session is described as a demonstration of “how a complex solution can be created leveraging multiple components of Office System”. More specifically, this lab uses new development features in Excel, InfoPath, and Office Server to illustrate an end-to-end building application permit workflow. The most impressive highlight is the fact that not a single line of code was written to develop the solution. Apparently, we have come a long way since the three man-years of development time and more than 20,000 lines of managed code it took to build the FabriKam 3.1 Solutions Learning Platform with Office System 2003.
