3Sharp: technical marketing specialists
2017 was a year of great milestones for 3Sharp – milestones that we’re proud of.
John Peltonen, 3Sharp’s founding partner, shares an executive summary of what Sharpies have been up to in 2017.
We grew by over 50% over the prior year while doubling down on our efforts to provide our partners with compelling, relevant and timely technical sales content. Our team has supported Microsoft, Adobe, and Sage executives at global industry conferences and special press events, such as the NYC Microsoft Teams launch. Furthermore, our automated processes have provided around 100,000 demo environments to field and partner reps with over 50,000 unique visitors to our demo provisioning portals.
3Sharp and technical marketing
2017 also represents the year that we doubled down on our focus on technical marketing. This focus enabled us to invest in specific, high-value offerings. Our skillset isn’t simply to create awesome demos. In fact, we are uniquely positioned to offer strategic long-term partnerships to our customers through a comprehensive technical marketing vision that includes technical sales enablement along with field and partner alignment. As a result, our business has grown from project-based technical marketing content production to program-based technical marketing content production.
No better example of this shift is the complete redesign and launch of the Demos.Microsoft.com platform. This portal offers Microsoft employees and partners instant access to demo environments and an ever-expanding library of demo content. After Microsoft introduced their integrated cloud services (M365), 3Sharp built out advanced environments with dozens of collateral assets.
Just as important as our business focus is our increasing drive to find and retain top talent. Beyond a steadfast support of a genuine work-life balance, 3Sharp introduced certain disruptive principles of The Great Game of Business. We review our full income statement as a team every Monday in our all hands meeting. We scrapped our old bonus program and began offering profit sharing. We ‘gamify’ work to drive company-wide participation in key initiatives. And we overhauled our review process to be competency-based, so that we all have a clear path forward on the skills to master to advance our careers.
2017 and beyond
2017 will go down as one of the most transformative years in 3Sharp’s history, where we leveraged our amazing employees, our Microsoft partnerships, and our years of marketing experience to deliver on a laser-focused strategy that will drive success for our current and future partners for years to come.
