Using the Records Center in SharePoint Online

It has been more than a year since I “whined” about the limited records management support in SharePoint Online. I was not alone in my observations when, at the time, you could only manage records in place with the cloud offering.

Microsoft responded to our “complaints” by updating SharePoint Online records management capabilities to be more accordant with the SharePoint 2013 on-premise release. The Records Center site template is now available in the Enterprise plans. Fellow 3Sharpie Rudy Dam details how to configure a “Send to” connection for use with your tenant’s Records Center. Then, within the Records Center site, you can set up content organizer rules that route documents per your organization’s hierarchical file plan.
